Dr. Rahul R. Modi is an alumnus of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) / Harvard University, Boston, USA, from where he has completed his fellowship in thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He is a graduate of Seth G S Medical College & King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and has completed his training in ENT and Head & Neck Surgery from the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh. He has done pioneering research work on impact of mobile phone use on hearing loss. He brings with him a fine experience of working in two of the most reputed medical centers in the world, i.e. the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Stanford University, USA. He is an accomplished Head and Neck Surgeon who has performed and participated in more than 500 complex head and neck surgical procedures. MGH has one of the largest thyroid and parathyroid surgery programs in the United States. His training focus was on the use of intraoperative nerve monitoring which is a ground-breaking technology in performing safe head and neck surgery.He was a visiting faculty at Stanford University, USA in the division of sleep surgery which is one of the largest centers in the world specializing in surgical cure for obstructive sleep apnea.His training focus here was providing individualized treatment to patients suffering from Obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. Before embarking on to the United States ofAmerica for higher surgical training, he was working for 4 years at L.T.M. General Hospital, Mumbai which is one of the largest tertiary care referral hospitals in Mumbai and has vast experience in managing both routine and complex ENT problems. He is an invited faculty in various surgical courses across the country and has trained numerouspracticing ENT surgeons. He was nominated as one of the executive leaders for the Indian Subcontinent by the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer in Boston, USA (2017). He has won several awards at numerous national platforms and has a number of national & international publications to his credit. He has authored chapters in various international surgical textbooks. He is also an active member of various national and international organizations such as the International Surgical Sleep Society, Foundation of Head and Neck Oncology, Skull base surgery society of India & Association of Otolaryngologists of India
